Product Introduction
Hexagon flange nuts manufactured to DIN 6923 with a zinc-plated carbon steel base. The integrated flange serves as an inseparable load-distributing washer, while serrations on the bearing face bite into the mating surface to resist vibration-induced loosening. The design eliminates the need for a separate flat washer and reduces assembly part count. Standard diameters M5 through M20 are supplied in metric coarse thread.

Material & Mechanical Properties
Cold-formed from carbon steel and tempered for property classes 8, 10, and 12 under ISO 898-2. Proof load and hardness are certified by lot, with traceability to the heat. When matched with bolts of equivalent or higher property class, the nut carries the full proof stress of the bolt assembly without thread stripping.

Geometry & Thread
Internal ISO metric coarse thread per ISO 724. The external hexagon conforms to standard wrench openings. The serrated flange face penetrates paint and surface films during tightening, creating a positive mechanical lock against rotation. The enlarged flange footprint distributes clamp force and prevents embedment into softer structural materials.

Corrosion Protection
Zinc electroplated with clear passivation, applied per ISO 4042/ASTM B633. The zinc layer provides sacrificial cathodic protection for the underlying steel. This finish is suitable for indoor installations and sheltered outdoor environments. For more aggressive atmospheric conditions, zinc-nickel, zinc flake, and hot-dip galvanized alternatives are specified.

Application Suitability
