Material & Mechanical Properties
Fabricated from weldable low-carbon steel with controlled aluminum content for arc stabilization. After welding, the stud develops a full-strength shear connection with controlled elongation and tensile capacity as specified by AWS D1.1 pre-qualified welding procedure specifications.
Dimensions & Identification
Nominal diameter: 10 mm – 25 mm
Length before welding: 40 mm – 300 mm
Head form: cheese head per ISO 13918
Marking: each stud is embossed with the manufacturer’s identification mark on the head surface.
Ceramic Ferrules
Every stud is supplied with a cordierite ceramic ferrule. Cordierite ferrules withstand the arc temperature and rapid thermal shock during drawn arc stud welding, maintaining weld pool shape and shielding the molten metal without melting or fracturing.
Application Suitability
Composite floor and bridge deck construction, steel-framed buildings, wind turbine foundations, petroleum pipeline support structures, and other steel-concrete hybrid designs where reliable shear transfer is specified. Installed using drawn arc stud welding equipment in accordance with AWS D1.1 procedure qualification.
